The Republican of Georgia’s account has been permanently suspended as part of the “strike” system launched in March by Twitter, which uses artificial intelligence to identify posts about the coronavirus that are deceptive enough to cause harm to people. In a statement on the Telegram messaging app, Greene called Twitter’s move un-American. She wrote that her account was suspended after tweeting statistics from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, a government database that includes raw, unverified data.
